Issues with AutoCAD & AutoCAD LT 2011 Update 1
|
|
Autodesk is addressing an issue with Update 1 for AutoCAD 2011 and AutoCAD LT 2011 that has prompted them to temporarily remove download access to the update. Autodesk is working on a hotfix for those of you who have already applied Update 1 for AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT 2011. If you haven’t downloaded and installed Update 1, please wait until the Update has been re-released.

Inventor Advantage: BIM Exchange
No contest. In the Technicom benchmark commissioned by Autodesk, Inventor easily outscored SolidWorks by the widest margin in the BIM Exchange functional area due to Inventor software’s exclusive Shrinkwrap and BIM Exchange capabilities that allow building product manufacturers to easily create BIM-ready content for use in architectural and construction designs. Rob Cohee’s YouTube video shows you how: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDhMDBIUMPs&feature=player_embedded

Inventor Visualization
Real-time Realistic Visualization: Autodesk Inventor has raised the bar by including state-of-the-art, unmatched real-time rendering capabilities so users can get stunning representation of designs ALL THE TIME, unlike 3D CAD where you are constantly waiting for the render to process.
Autodesk Material Library: Inventor includes a massive material library with high-resolution textures so users can create images directly inside the design program. Materials will also carry forward to Autodesk® Showcase and Autodesk 3ds Max® for further visualization work.
Explicit Control: Inventor is one of the only design software tools that gives you explicit control over shadows, reflections, and lighting. It also includes HDR backgrounds and image-based lighting schemes so you can create photo-realistic scenes of your product in actual environments.
Your next step… Look at Autodesk Technical Evangelist Rob Cohee’s blog at http://ellipsis-autodesk.typepad.com/blog/ to see him prove that Autodesk Inventor is the superior solution with real-time state-of-the-art visualization that helps users better conceptualize and communicate their designs.

Inventor iLogic
Integrated and In the Box: Inventor customers get a complete rules-based design solution in the box. No need to purchase or install add-ins. iLogic is designed to be completely integrated into the part and assembly modelling workflows in Inventor.
Ease of Use: Inventor iLogic is one of the first rules-based design solutions that doesn’t require the user to be a programming expert. The iLogic wizard uses native Inventor parameters and an intuitive interface that helps the user properly define the logical parameters used to control the model… if you can use formulas in Excel, you have all you need to use iLogic successfully.
Breadth of Uses: iLogic is obviously a powerful tool for creating logical configurators for parts and assemblies – but with 200 functions in the iLogic dictionary users can leverage it for additional purposes like capturing design intent, re-using existing designs, and automating some of the tedious tasks engineers have to do in Inventor every day.
