FUSION 360 – EXTENSIONS

Extensions are a flexible way to extend your capabilities in Fusion 360. Some extensions add extra functionality to existing workspaces, while other extensions let you perform unlimited actions that would normally require you to spend cloud credits.

Access to an extension lasts for a certain period of time. The time period depends on your purchase option. When an extension expires, you still retain access to all the functionality included with your Fusion 360 subscription.

Fusion 360 – Machining Extension

Overview video (58 secs.)

Amplify your manufacturing capacity

The Manufacture extension adds extra functionality to the Manufacture workspace to extend your capabilities. The capabilities help to improve your speed with automation, while gaining more control of your machine and processes.

What’s included?

  • Additive Manufacturing
  • 5-Axis and Collision Avoidance
  • Hole Recognition
  • Probe Geometry
  • Surface Inspection Strategy
  • Rotary Strategy
  • Steep and Shallow Strategy
  • Toolpath Trimming

Enhance programming efficiency

Automate your workflows to reduce your programming time, remove repetitive tasks, and reduce errors.

Deliver superior parts

Produce high quality finished parts, with capabilities that increase the effectiveness of your NC programs.

Avoid overpriced software

Get access to advanced functionality only when you need it. Stick to your budget without cutting costs elsewhere.

Fusion 360 – Generative Design Extension

Generate design outcomes

Generative Design enables you to define a design problem through goals and constraints, generate a set of designs that meet the requirements, and explore the designs to select the optimal one for manufacture.

Using the Generative Design Extension, you can generate outcomes and create designs and mesh designs from outcomes an unlimited number of times, without using cloud credits for each task.

What’s included?

  • Outcome generation
  • Creating designs and mesh designs from outcomes

Accelerate your product development process (47 sec.)

Generative Design for manufacturing with Fusion 360

Simultaneously generate multiple CAD-ready solutions based on real-world manufacturing constraints and product performance requirements.

Manufacturing Methods & Constraints

Identify your design requirements, constraints, materials, and manufacturing options to generate manufacturing-ready designs.

Machine Learning & AI

Review cloud-generated design outcomes based on visual similarities, plots, and filters powered by machine learning.

Fusion 360 – Additive Build Extension

Build higher value additive parts

Unlock extra additive manufacturing technology inside Fusion 360. Use powder bed fusion machinery to produce lighter, stronger, better performing parts whilst also reducing material wastage and cost.

Metal additive manufacturing

Select 3D print parameters, automatically orient parts, and generate fully associative support structures for efficient programming.

Quickly create subtractive finishing operations within the same Fusion 360 environment to machine precise features and achieve a high-quality surface finish.

Fusion 360 – Nesting & Fabrication Extension

Adds advanced nesting and fabrication functionality to the Manufacture and Design workspaces.

It enables you to:

  • Create optimised and associative multi-sheet layouts for your sheet metal and non-sheet metal parts in preparation for cutting on your CNC machines.
  • Use advanced Arrange controls to arrange items on multiple sheets with more granular control.

What’s included?

  • Advanced Arrange: Arrange on multiple sheets and control object orientation allowances.
  • Nest Preparation controls in the Design workspace: Select which types of objects in the design you want to include in the nest, such as sheet metal, sketches, or selected entities.
  • Materials and packaging: Set and manage the materials and packaging that you want to use in your nest studies.
  • Component sources: Set global nesting defaults for components, add parts to your nest that are not in the current design, and more.
  • Nest studies: Create nest studies with multiple nest alternatives so you can preview and configure how parts are arranged on your materials.
  • Nest comparisons: View information on nest studies, nests, and sheets such efficiency, cost, number of materials and sheets, and more.
  • Nest export: Export sheets to DXF (drawing interchange format) or MSI (TruNest) formats.
  • Material and packaging presets: Create, use, and share presets of commonly used materials and packaging.
