Onyx

Onyx yields stiff, strong, and accurate parts. Already 1.4 times stronger and stiffer than ABS, Onyx can be reinforced with any continuous fiber. Onyx sets the bar for surface finish, chemical resistivity, and heat tolerance.

MATERIALS

Nylon White

Nylon White parts are smooth, non-abrasive, and easily painted. They can be reinforced with any continuous fiber and work best for non-marring work holding, repeated handling, and cosmetic parts.

Formed from the combination of two materials, composite parts are incredibly strong and versatile. Our unique fabrication process enables you to print parts that are an order of magnitude stiffer and stronger than typical 3D printed objects.

Carbon Fiber

Carbon Fiber


Carbon Fiber has the highest strength to weight ratio of our reinforcing fibers. Six times stronger and eighteen times stiffer than Onyx, Carbon Fiber reinforcement is commonly used for parts that replace machined aluminum.

Fiberglass

Fiberglass


Fiberglass is our entry level continuous fiber, providing high strength at an accessible price. 2.5 times stronger and eight times stiffer than Onyx, Fiberglass reinforcement results in strong, robust tools.

HSHT Fiberglass


Five times as strong and seven times as stiff as fiberglass, High Strength High Temperature (HSHT) Fiberglass is best used for parts loaded in high operating temperatures.

Kevlar


Kevlar® possesses excellent durability, making it optimal for parts that experience repeated and sudden loading. As stiff as fiberglass and much more ductile, it’s best used for end of arm tooling.

Impeller

17-4 Stainless Steel


17-4 stainless steel combines high strength, corrosion resistance, and hardness, making it widely used in aerospace, medical and petroleum industries. We use it for assembly fixtures and tooling on the Mark X.

Metal X

6061 Aluminum

  BETA

As a general purpose aluminum, 6061 combines good machinability, strength, and weldability. It can additionally be anodized with a good finish. We use it for many of the machined components in the Mark X.

7075 Aluminum

  BETA

7075 Aluminum is one of the strongest aluminum alloys. With good fatigue strength and a high strength-to-weight ratio, this alloy is stronger than common structural steels.

316L Stainless Steel

Also known as marine grade stainless steel, 316L stainless steel exhibits very good corrosion resistance and excellent weldability.

A-2 Tool Steel

  

A-2 tool steel is air-hardened with excellent impact resistance. We use it for punches, dies, and form tooling on the Mark X.

Inconel 625

  BETA

Inconel’s strength combined with its impressive heat resistance makes it ideal for heat and pressure shielding. This superalloy is used in jet engines and medical applications, is very hard to machine.

Titanium Ti-6Al-4V

  BETA

Ideal for lightweight applications and has both high tensile strength and fatigue resistance. This bio-compatible material is widely used in medical applications such as orthopedic joint replacements.

D-2 Tool Steel

  BETA

The high carbon and chromium content of D-2 tool steel provides great hardness and abrasion resistance (but not as tough as A-2). D-2 is often used for cutting tools.
